A season is a period of time that is marked by different weather patterns. There are four seasons in most parts of the world: spring, summer, fall, and winter.
The seasons are caused by the Earth's tilt on its axis. As the Earth rotates around the sun, different parts of the Earth are tilted towards or away from the sun. When the Earth is tilted towards the sun, it is summer in that part of the world. When the Earth is tilted away from the sun, it is winter in that part of the world.
The seasons also affect the length of the day and night. In the summer, the days are longer and the nights are shorter. In the winter, the days are shorter and the nights are longer.
The four seasons are spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
