Light is a type of energy that travels in waves. It is the same energy that allows us to see. Light travels from a source, such as a sun or a lightbulb, to our eyes. When light hits our eyes, it is converted into nerve signals that our brains interpret as images.
Light can travel through many different materials, such as air, water, and glass. However, it can also be blocked by some materials, such as walls and trees. The colour of light is determined by its wavelength. Shorter wavelengths of light, such as blue and violet, appear to be bluer, while longer wavelengths of light, such as red and orange, appear to be redder.
Bright: Something that emits or reflects a lot of light.
