A finger is a long, thin part of the hand that is used for grasping and feeling. Fingers are made up of bones, muscles, and tendons. The bones in the fingers are called phalanges. There are three phalanges in each finger, except for the thumb, which has two. The muscles in the fingers are responsible for moving the fingers. The tendons connect the muscles to the bones.

Fingers are very important for humans. They allow us to grasp objects, feel textures, and communicate. We use our fingers to hold forks and spoons, type on keyboards, and play musical instruments.
