There are a varied number of roles available in the construction industry and this can mean you work on site, from an office or even from home. Some roles you might need to be physically fit, but you don’t always need to be strong.
Construction is a multi-million pound industry, and big salaries are offered to those with the right skillset. The average salary in the construction industry is over £42,000!
Construction sites do use some materials that can be dirty, like sand or clay but we keep our sites very clean. It’s important to make sure we are respectful to the communities where we work.
In fact, there are over 320,000 women working in construction in the UK, filling roles within civil engineering, architecture and quantity surveying to name a few, any gender can carry out any job in the construction industry, all you need are the right skills!
Construction welcomes a wide range of formal education levels. We need lots of different skills from BTECs to apprenticeship degrees… because these skills are in need throughout the industry, you can even get sponsored to go to university, so you won’t have to pay!
The construction industry puts a lot of effort into looking after the world we live in. We try to build green buildings with environmentally friendly designs. We try to make our work as kind to the environment as possible, we are very careful with our waste and try to pick eco-friendly materials.
