The process of ovulation and menstruation in women and other female primates.
FSH
Short for follicle-stimulating hormone which stimulates the growth of ovarian follicles in the ovary.
secretion
The production and release of a useful substance by a gland or cell; also, the substance produced.
oestrogen
A female hormone that causes development and change in the reproductive organs.
progesterone
A steroid hormone released by the corpus luteum that stimulates the uterus to prepare for pregnancy.
