Building on a foundation of fundamental numeracy, literacy and broad academic knowledge, all children learn about:
Resources: Class presentation, pens, pencils and scissors.
Handout: The activity sheet contains different areas in our lives that we can change to have a positive impact on nature. The children are to cut out the images and match them with the correct description.
Explain to the children that natural habitats and ecosystems are needed to support a healthy and eco-friendly world. If they are to do that, then we need to support them. What can we do to protect natural habitats and ecosystems?
Use the presentation slides to show the children the steps that we need to take to encourage ecosystems and habitats to support the climate. The children will learn a number of different methods that they can carry out at home and at school.

The children are to cut out the images and match with the correct description.
These are the areas to cut out and match with a picture:
1. Plant trees, flowers and bushes.
2. Use environmentally friendly compost.
3. Be bee friendly, build bee hotels, bird boxes and ponds for nature.
4. Reduce, reuse and recycle.
5. Repair items instead of throwing them out and buying new ones.
6. Save water.
Challenge task: The activity sheet contains a table with the actions included. Ask the children to fill in the table with the ways in which they can fulfill these actions at home and at school.
Out of the identified action areas, ask the children how many they already do on a regular basis.
