  • £35,000 - £37,500 (negotiable, depending on experience) 
  • 22 days holiday + 8 in respect of public holidays (pro rata)

  • Permanent, 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, to reflect the needs of the business
  • Working from home, with occasional face-to-face meetings

About the role:  

Developing Experts (DE) is seeking a Primary Curriculum Writer to support the efficient creation and development of our expanding curriculum. Currently, we provide schools with science and geography curricula and are looking to extend our offering across other foundation subjects.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating lesson content, implementing new curriculum initiatives, responding to feedback from users, and collaborating with industry partners to integrate career opportunities within the curriculum. Additionally, you will assist the School Engagement Team with CPD, teacher communications, written marketing content, and new product development.

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Develop and enhance DE’s primary curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational initiatives and user feedback.
  • Create digital lesson content, including lesson plans, presentations, handouts, assessments, and curriculum documentation.
  • Assist in the production of lesson film content.
  • Review and refine existing curriculum materials.
  • Ensure that all lesson content is high-quality, engaging, and relevant.
  • Respond to curriculum-related enquiries and feedback from teachers.

Competencies, Skills, and Experience  

Essential: 

  • A degree in Education or PGCE with QTS
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
  • Excellent classroom practitioner and a proven track record of delivering engaging lessons that enhance pupil outcomes
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong I.T and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and grammar
  • Proactive and adaptable
  • An approachable demeanour and excellent collaborative skills

 

Desirable: 

  • Experience in subject leadership
  • A valid UK driving licence 

General: 

  • Take an active responsibility for personal professional growth and development within the role. This will include the identification of training and other developmental opportunities at regular review meetings and through ongoing dialogue with your line manager. 
  • Adhere to DE’s procedures and policies and ensure that all activities for which you are responsible are completed to a high standard. 
  • Attend team meetings, as requested by your line manager.
